Patrick Heavey – President / Managing Member
Pat was a platoon leader in Vietnam. He is an experienced financial manager, entrepreneur and small business operator. He has over 30 years experience as an advocate for veterans, with extensive contacts throughout the local and national veterans community, within government entities, and across the political spectrum. In addition to his role with AviForce, Pat remains Chief executive of a nonprofit organization that provides education, advocacy and research services pertaining to US veterans. Programs include Hepatitis C awareness and outreach programs, legal clinic for homeless veterans as part of St. Louis Stand Down, legal services for homeless and indigent veterans, burial program for homeless veterans, small business consulting and advocacy. He helps manage several hundred volunteers, conducts focus groups and seminars, and serves on several public sector and non-profit boards, committees, and advisory councils. He has experience with governmental relations, policy formation and implementation issues, the use of focus group research and strategic planning for nonprofits. Nationally recognized for his work in veterans’ affairs issues, Pat is also a Co-Founder of a national consulting firm providing veteran and small business related services to clients including the US Small Business Administration, University of Massachusetts at Boston and the National Veterans Business Development Corporation.
Robert W. Fulstone – VP Director of Marketing
Bob was with the U.S. Army Signal Corps in Vietnam. He has a diverse business record in management, marketing, communicating, selling, and promotion as well as financial planning and fund raising. Most recently with RCP Advisors he helped to establish the middle-market-focused LBO fund of funds that raised eighty million dollars in one and a half years. At KMOX in St. Louis, Fulstone achieved top sales and profitability surpassing all CBS radio stations in America—even over major markets of New York, Chicago, Los Angeles. In addition to his achievements in the corporate realm, Bob achieved the Number-1 rating in America as the general manager of family-owned KPLR-TV. In 1993, he served as Executive Director of Sales for the St. Louis NFL Partnership, exceeding all expectations promised to the NFL for the Premium Seat and Suite Sales Campaign (by networking all the major corporations in the region and received commitments totaling over 12 million dollars. He also opened the St. Louis market for Metro Networks Traffic in 1994 and built a network of radio and television stations that reached 88.2% of the market. His civic activities on behalf of the veterans have included co-founding the Company of Sergeants which serves homeless veterans; a Board Member of the James McDOnnell USO; and a member of the Veterans Day Parade Committee. He is a 1992 recipient of the St. Louis Veterans Consortium's Patriot Award.
John R. Tomlinson – VP New Business Development
John or JT as he prefers to be called served as a Loadmaster on C-130’s during the Vietnam War. As a founding executive, JT brings 30 years of marketing and senior management experience in the media industry to the company and his position. His resume includes founding and growing and serving as executive manager of news, sports and farm radio networks in three states, while also taking leadership positions in that industry's national association. More recently, in 9 years with Metro Networks, Inc., he rose to become Senior Vice President of the News Division for Westwood One with operations in 70 U.S. markets, while guiding the creation and launch of its satellite-delivered news wire, and the accompanying newsroom and wire/audio capture workstation software system, designed specifically for radio and the internet, building the list of radio affiliates alone to more than 900 nationwide within 3 years.
James Sharpe - VP Director of Operations
Jim Sharpe joined AviForce Internet Solutions following 30 years in broadcast journalism and management. Following years as broadcast reporter and news director in Chicago and other Midwestern cities at stations owned by Hearst, Mutual, Tribune among others, Jim joined Metro Networks, Inc., heading operations of the newly launched Chicago traffic and news operations center. Later he rose to become Vice President-Midwest Regional Operations responsible for 6 cities' operations and affiliate relations. And three years later he was selected to be Vice President - Operations for the company's development and launch of its unique news wire and audio service for radio stations, including establishment of its national operations center and news editorial hub, coordination of the local news centers in the company's 70 market operations centers, and the installation and delivery of the computer and software system in those centers as well as at more than 500 radio stations across the USA, and delivery of news and information content to web portals and internet sites.
